About Coffee Hive Holdings

Founded by Darren Lim, Anthony Chan, Terence Tan, and Wee Liang in 2011, Coffee Hive was born from a desire to provide quality food and coffee at affordable prices to Singaporean workers in the Central Business District. Now expanded to 12 outlets across Singapore, it aims to be a cosy gathering spot for family and friends; the name was actually inspired by bees gathering in a comfortable hive. Since then, the founders have also explored new concepts under Coffee Hive Holdings, one of them being Wok Master. Customers can choose from a wide selection of homestyle dishes, inspired by the local concept of ‘tze char’, as well as some East-West fusion dishes.

The Objectives

Coffee Hive Holdings gained a range of new ways to engage its broad base of customers, even when its brands attracted different types of customers.

Advocado’s wide range of rewards options impressed Anthony, as he could design different campaigns to appeal to different types of customers. “One really good feature is [the marketing automation tool] Advocade,” he notes, “since it goes one step further than other CRMs which just collect information. You can actually use the software to reach out to them.” 


When working with Advocado to set up their loyalty programmes, Anthony also received the impression that Advocado was genuinely interested in their business and was eager to work together for the long haul. He shared that the Advocado team shared “new and interesting stuff” that helped them to craft better campaigns. For instance, Coffee Hive Holdings had only used stored value campaigns at Coffee Hive outlets. With Advocado’s advice, the founders decided to switch to a cashback model for Wok Master outlets, which proved popular with customers.
